The short version
The calculator runs entirely in your browser. Your tank dimensions and your stock list are never transmitted to us, because there is no server to transmit them to. This is a static site.
What is stored on your device
Your tank, your equipment settings and your species list are saved in your browser's local storage, so the page is not blank when you come back to plan the next addition. It stays on your device, we cannot read it, and clearing your browser data removes it.
Those same values also appear in the page URL, so you can bookmark a stocking plan or paste it into a forum thread for a second opinion. That URL is only shared if you choose to share it.
Advertising
This site carries third-party display advertising. Ad providers may set cookies or use similar technologies to measure and personalise the advertising you see, and they act as independent controllers of that data. Their practices are governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.
Where required, a consent notice will be shown before non-essential cookies are set, and declining is a genuine option that does not restrict your use of the tools.
Analytics
Aggregate traffic measurement may be used to see which pages are read and which species get searched for. It is not used to identify individuals and it is never combined with anything you enter into a calculator.
What we never do
- Ask for your name, address or email. There is no account and no sign-up.
- Sell, rent or pass your details to fish shops, breeders or equipment sellers.
- Email you. There is no mailing list, because there is nothing to join.
Children
This site is a planning tool for aquarium keepers and is not directed at children, though it is perfectly safe reading for one.
Your rights and contact
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is generally nothing for us to retrieve or delete. If you believe otherwise, or have a question about this policy, get in touch via the contact page.
